Strange things happen to the Flint Family!

So as I was going through some of the piles and piles of my girls clothes in the basement yesterday, I get a phone call.  I was skeptical to answer it because I did not recognize the area code at all and I have been getting waaay to many sales calls lately!  So I said "Hello" and on the other end was a pleasant voice that said " Hi my name is Faith and I'm from the Judge Judy show."

What!?  Who gets phone calls from the Judge Judy show?....... MY HUSBAND does!  After asking this poor girl if she was joking probably a hundred times, she finally reassured me that she was who she said she was.  After picking up my jaw from the floor, she asked if my husband would be willing to have his current small claims case be heard in front of Judge Judy!  Seriously!  I was thinking that my hubby would never go for it so trying to play it down I asked where we would have to go to be on the show.  She told me that it is taped in Hollywood, California, BUT that they pay for all travel expenses (airfare, hotel, and food)!  So then still skeptical I asked what the incentive would be for the other guy.  She then told me his travel is paid for also and if he looses that the show pays the debt for him!  So no wonder those people don't get too upset when they loose, they don't have to pay anyways!

Since I am the one that watches the show everyday (slightly pathetic I know) I made a family decision that we will be participating!  Why not!  Free trip and we are guaranteed to be paid within 30 days if we win.  There are a lot of details to work out but the producer seemed very interested in our case (details of which I will have to share at a later time)!  So look for my hubby on Judge Judy, even though I love the show I have NO desire to be on TV at all, so I will be avoiding the camera at all costs.  Plus I heard the camera adds 10 pounds and I am just not cool with that ;)

Papa's Birthday..

Today after picking my son up from my favorite SIL's house we were off to run a few errands for the day.  The most important stop was at the drug store to pick up a little something from the kids for my grandpa's birthday (which was today).  So I asked Joey what he thought we should get him, and of course I expected him to say his usual I don't know, or something along that line.  To my amusement he said very quickly " We should get him some nails, because he likes to work on stuff, and some chocolate because he likes to eat that!" I thought that this was just so cute and very thoughtful!  Even though the work work is involved Joey is completely right my grandfather likes working on things and he is rarely sitting, always fixing something!

I think this has come with his age since just last year he was still getting me the same bubble gum machine "fake" ring from the secret Santa shop at school!  I love every one of them but I can't wear them for more than 15 minutes due to the green ring around my finger. ;)  This year he got all of us really good gifts! (well as good as it gets from secret Santa!)  I got hand sanitizer and so did Jenna and Kyle got a calculator which we needed!  He is so cute and thoughtful I sure hope he stays that way and he is sure to make some girl (besides Mom) a very happy lady one day!  Although I may be slightly bias!

This kid has personality coming out of his ears, I'm not really sure where he gets it from but I love it! :)

Big Girl....

As I was trying to get a few things done yesterday, I was in and out of the living room where Allie was playing.  I failed to notice the sippie cup full of chocolate milk on the coffee table, so of course the first thing she did was crawl right for it and she downed the whole thing!  Allie is turning into a little stinker, she searches for anything that is NOT a toy to play with.  This makes me wonder why it is that i have a basement full of toys that I'm saving for her when I could just give her a laundry basket full of CLEAN, FOLDED clothes and she would be happy to empty it out on the floor in 2 minutes flat!

She is discovering new things everyday and she is becoming faster that what we can keep up with sometimes!  I am cherishing these moments while she's still a baby!  In a few short months she is going to turn into a walking, talking messy little monster!  While I'm not quite ready for her to be a big girl yet, she certainly liked the cup full of chocolate milk she "stole" from her sister!

Here's my big girl finding some leftovers she threw on the floor from lunch including her cup of water!

Smarty Pants

This evening while sitting on a very comfy bean bag chair in Joey's room I decided to add teacher to my job description, and I quizzed Jenna with one of his learning toys.  I was pleasantly surprised and ashamed all at the same time!  I was shocked at how much she already knew, and ashamed because I have not exactly worked with her as often as I should!  I couldn't help but think that all the hours she has spent watching Team Umizoomi had paid off!!

We started with the numbers and I showed her each number (not in order) and she named all the numbers 1-11 without a mistake!  Then I did the colors and she knew all of those as well.  Then I did the shapes and she named them all including Octagon, Pentagon and Trapezoid!  (and of course the circle, oval, triangle, rectangle, square, star, diamond)  I couldn't believe it!  We point out shapes while we are out and about but I have never actually sat down and showed her the shapes and what they are called!

The conclusion that I have drawn is that she mush take after her Mother, so that means she's a genius!  ;)  As a Mom it feels great to realize that my kids are intelligent little creature's and I am positive the best is yet to come!!

Here is my cute little smarty pants...

Pinterest Party!!

A couple of weeks ago I had an idea that I should get a few of my friends together and put our hours of pinning to work!
So I invited 5 other Moms, I didn't want there to be too many people then things seem to get complicated.
When the night came there were 3 of us, which worked out perfectly!
The "rules" of the party were everyone brings 1 craft/DIY and enough supplies for all to make it and everyone brings 1 recipe they had pinned that they wanted to try or already did and loved!
I think our party was a success! I made the Bathtub Magic, and homeade Fabric Softener as gifts for my attending friends...
My craft was wine glasses dipped in Chalkboard Paint
which will work great for our next family dinner so myself and my SIL aren't always wondering if we have the right cup! :)

Bathtub Magic
I clean houses and a Dr's Office for a living and this stuff tops them all!  I have never been able to just spray my bathtub and then wipe off (even though every product advertised states this is possible!)! This mixture is cheap, easy and works really good!  I used a small squirt bottle and I put 1/4 cup of Dawn Dishsoap, then I used 3/4 cup of warm distilled vinegar.  That's it!
Tips
Put the Dawn in your bottle first
(if not you may have an issue with bubbles...)
If you have too many suds use more vinegar
All the other posts I have read say to use Blue Dawn
I did not I used Dawn with Bleach Alternative
and it worked great!

This craft is a DIY Dry-Erase board
My good friend Karen brought this idea and it turned out really cute!
I even hung mine up that night!
Here is what you need for these
8x10 picture frame
Scrapbook paper cut to 8x10 size (preferably lighter colors or something that will contrast with black so you can see the marker)
1 Roll of Black Ribbon
Tips
We hot-glued the ribbon on the back of the picture frame not intending to hand these from the ribbon, but just to use the ribbon for decoration and hang it from the hooks on the back of the frame
This would also look cute as a table top idea, although all of us said we didnt have any space to spare on our table's or counters!

My SIL Elissa brought these homemade Snickers bars!  These are soooo good, she left the leftovers at my house and I ate almost all of them except 1 that I shared with my 6 year old!

This is everything we made for the night
Peeps Vases
Chalkboard Wine Glasses
Sugar Scrub
Fabric Softener
Watering Can Decorators (also with chalkboard paint)
Bathtub Magic
DIY Dry-erase board!

I think our evening was a success and I can't wait to do it again!!!
